Where does OS X keep it's cache of the background image? Here's the situation:
I have a firewire hard drive that I installed OS X on and applied the background I wanted. But then later on I decided to change it, so i booted my macbook pro off the drive and changed it. Now when I boot the macbook pro, i get the new image. But when I boot my old mac pro, it still shows the old image even though the file itself is long gone. There must be a cache somewhere but I don't see it.

Why don't you just change it?

Change the setting, then search for any file modified today.
The low-end Mac Pro is the most overpriced Mac since the IIvx

I did change it. But it's remembering the old setting when you boot the disk off other machines. I'd have to plug this drive into every machine I've ever booted it off of, and change the background on every one... or if I could just figure out where/how it stores the cached background, I could just delete that file and be good to go

The problem is that the backgrounds aren't being updated across the board, so the files i'm looking for, I would assume, are not being updated.
