I have been trying to install iMovie 6 on my iMac Core 2 Duo running Snow Leopard - there are a couple of features that I want to use that went away with later versions. I have downloaded - straight from Apple - their "Here's iMovie 6 because we know a lot of people will hate iMovie '08" DMG, and pulled the app from within the package, but every time I run it, it's in Russian.

How do I make this app use English without running the whole installer package and thus having to reinstall iMovie '08 (which I don't hate very much) afterward?

Why would you have to reinstall iMovie 08 afterwards?

For one, the shortcomings of iMovie 08 have almost all been addressed in 09 and 11, and for another, the iMovie HD download specifically left iMovie 08 intact.

Third, I believe the iMovie HD installer hasn't been available on Apple's website since iMovie 09 was released. Whatever you have there probably isn't a full version whichever way you cut it.

Ah. Good to know that the HD installer leaves '08 alone. That's not clear in the documentation.

Apple didn't pull the download, the just dropped the "we know you might hate iMovie '08" link to it. Here's the download page...

OK, so I was wrong. All that is left on Apple's site is updaters... This is going to be a lot less fun than I thought...
