Will something special be announced at that date? Developer meeting? New CEO? Sale date of 10.7?

I tend to correct thread titles. If there was a reason for having 'tin', let me know.

TIL: Tin anniversary == ten year anniversary.

Apple did nothing to celebrate the 25 years of the Mac, even though Jobs said they might at Macworld.

So after 10 years you buy your wife a new box of tin foil to wrap the leftovers.

That would be incredibly timely and apropos: in a 10-year span, OS X grew from the debt-ridden hulk of Apple, beget iOS, and has redefined quality PC and mobile computing with beautiful levels of integration.

Oh the memories of running 10.0 on my iBook (dual USB) in the summer of 2001.

I remember the release of 10.0 and the upgrade path. I still remember how much of a change 10.2 -> 10.3 was, especially as a theme maker back then.

Happy anniversary, Mac OS X. You've really grown up along with your parent company. Unfortunately, now I'm primarily a Windows 7 user.

I remember being at the release party that night at the computer store across the street from the Apple campus (whose name escapes me right now; it's now a bagel cafe) and seeing Woz there in person for the first time. Giant Hummers with Batman spotlights rotating into the sky. That was my first year here in California working for Apple. Pretty exciting.
