Hello,

I have an interesting problem on a new macbook pro, OS version 10.6.7.

In the main user account, none of the programs recognize the letter "t." lowercase only. When you hit it, the computer makes an irritating BONK noise.

When I make a new user account, the letter works fine. Is there any file that could be corrupted in the main user home directory?

How can this be fixed?

Thanks in advance for your help.

System Preferences > Speech > Speak selected text when the key is pressed
^uncheck that.

Someone set the t key to speak text, so it's no longer typing a t.
