In a previous upgrade (Leopard?) there was no printer driver for my printer so had to buy a new one or not print anything for 6 months. Is there any info on Lion printer drivers - I have 2 Brother printers

Until Lion is publicly available, it's going to be difficult to know for sure. What are the specific models? You could get lucky and one of our members may have the same printer. Most likely your best answers will come when Lion is out for everyone.

OS X comes with universal printer drivers that should allow you to print on any printer, even if you can't access the special features of that printer.

And I'm surprised you couldn't find drivers for Brother printers. I have a 10 year old Brother laser that I have drivers for and it works perfectly.

My apologies! I am new to this. I had another printer (I forget which one) and bought the Brother printers (one for home, one for office) because drivers were available. I have an HL-2040 and a DCP 540CN. I guess I will have to wait until the day and see what info is made available then.

In principle, it's very rare that printer support is removed, so you can reasonably expect that your printers will just work.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
