Hey! A non-Lion question!

I have an external drive that I have partitioned into a bootable backup drive and a scratch disc for Photoshop.

Lately, I've discovered that, when I right-click on an image and select Open With > PhotoshopCS5, the copy of Photoshop on the backup drive gets launched, instead of the copy on my local drive. In fact, there is no other instance of Photoshop in the contextual menu to choose from. It only lists the copy on the backup.

Why would the menu list the backup copy of Photoshop and not the copy on the local drive? Is there a way to get the contextual menu to ignore the backup drive completely?

Also...Is there a way to clear all the garbage from the contextual menu? For instance, when doing the Open With on an image, in addition to the expected choices (Photoshop, Preview, etc.) it also lists damn near every effect plugin in Photoshop as well as any application that might remotely be able to open an image. Dozens of choices. I'd love to be able to clear it out and limit what the OS thinks should be listed.

Thanks.

Unmount the external drive, then open a file with PhotoShop via contextual menu item. It should find the local copy and show it as the preferred option in future.
