In system preferences for iCloud in Mac OS we have the option to select "Document & Data" sharing. With no Mac OS applications which use iCloud this appears to have no purpose that I can see. Am I missing something? Can anyone else think of a use for this?

My only thought is that we will be seeing updated applications using this. iWork '11 or '12 is long overdue and at the moment the ability to move documents to iOS devices is still a little clunky. Maybe this is what it is for?

I think this works only with the current iWork for now. Eventually, it may work for other apps (hoping with MS Office).

At the moment it does not appear to do anything I can see with iWork '09. The applications have no interface with iCloud. Documents cannot be uploaded from or downloaded to the applications from within them or automatically via Mac OS. It would make more sense if iWork.com had been rolled into iCloud but at the moment this is not the case. iCloud help even makes no specific mention of this aspect in Mac OS

If you have noticed anything then please correct me. I was wondering if I was missing something. I am really hoping that I am not and that we will see some improvements on the Mac end that make it possible to edit files across iOS devices and Macs.
