I use a few different external HD's to back up using TimeMachine. Is there a way for TimeMachine to alert me when it's done backing up a disk so I can switch to another disk? Thanks!

Or you could use Growl in conjunction with TimeMachineGrowler.

I haven't had time to decipher it, but this Applescript is for shutting a machine down after running a TM backup. No reason you couldn't modify it display a dialog without too much fuss.

I'm shocked that Apple never provided more advanced Time Machine configuration options.

I'm not shocked about this. Much more than a big On/Off switch would probably scare too many people away from doing a backup at all.

Right, I understand that, but you could have an Advanced Options button. Not prominent, just for those who want something other than the default settings.

Actually, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Do you know how to disable / enable it? Thanks!
