Hey,
several months ago, I installed TimeMachine backups on my parents' iMacs - we are rather happy, they continue working and backupping so far... One question, though: Can I really access the file system on the Time Machine drive? Just in Finder, looking up files, picking out whichever I was looking for (for instance, in the case of having deleted something accidentally)? - I thought you ALWAYS needed the TimeMachine application for this, so that you aren't just able to navigate in Finder...

It does work, right? Anything to worry? I suppose I can't edit the files there, neither delete anything, as this would throw up the concept?

Any explanation? Would be helpful...

Thanks!
Pete

Yes, you can fetch files the normal way.

Don't bother trying to edit or move anything - it won't let you. You can delete entire backup timeshots (say, to free up space) but nothing smaller than that.
