Cause I live in a second story home and I have tried to find the best place for the access point to be placed, but I cannot access to my Wi-Fi network some areas in my home.
I dont want to buy another Wi-Fi router, so is there anyway to boost the Linksys FBEFW11S4's radio signal or better antenna?
Thanks,
First off, I don't know if there is a legal power limit that can actually be exceeded by the hardware in a Linksys wireless router, but I don't think so.
Second, have you tried setting your wireless network to run on different channels? Channel 7 should be the most powerful on a US-standard sysem. Another option is raising the unit to a spot higher off the floor, since many common furniture items seem to absorb the signal-I put my WAP11 on a shelf at eye-level and increased my usable range to include of my 1800 square-foot house.
Finally, I read something on the Linksys forum on
Broadband Reports about a utility that let you select higher power levels, but I can't find my references for it right now. I've searched on that forum but can't locate the thread. Maybe an internet search could find it for you.
Good luck.
