I recently purchased a new ibook 700 and wanted to add it to my current wireless network.
The PC is running win 2k professional with a linksys wireless setup. I am able to access the ibook from the PC but when I try to access the PC via the Finder --> Go ---> Connect to Server I see the PC but I can never login no matter what I do. Can someone pleae take the time to provide me with a tutorial or a step by step walk through before my wife kills me for using so much of my time in the other room?!?! Thanks in advance!
Hmmmm..... maybe not!

have you configured sharing correctly on the PC?

are you using OS X 10.2.1?
have you enabled the firewall on your ibook? disable it if so.

I believe i have taken all the precautionary measures on the PC side, I am running 10.2.1, but I am not sure if the firewall is on or not?

On a PC you have to explicitly share a folder for it to be available for sharing. The sharing tab (under folder properties) prompts you for what kind of sharing you want (full control, read, or change), and lets you password protect the share.

Just right-click on the folder you want to share, select properties, and fill in the name you want the folder to show on the network. Click on permissions and select what users (like "everyone") you want to have access, then select what level of permissions you want to allow. Click OK, and you have officially "shared" that folder.

Sharing the root of a drive is "not recommended" for several reasons, and it makes sense to create a folder on the drive you want to share to compartmentalize what you're sharing more neatly.
