I have kind of a strange setup at my house and wondered if some networking folks could help me out.

Here are all the pieces:

Cable Modem
Airport Station
Titanium Laptop - Airport Card
WinXP Machine
Playstation 2 w/Network Adapter
Hub
Router

I need the router in order to get the PS2 working correctly with the cable modem.

What i'm looking for is the best way to setup the network to allow for file sharing and peripheral sharing to work as easy as possible.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

in order for the smoothest LAN operation--for printer/file sharing among your computers, they should be on the same subnet.

first, connection your cable modem. then connect the router to the cable modem. I'm assuming your router has more than 1 ethernet port--you'll need three here: one for the PC, one for the playstation, and one for the base station.

now connect your ps2, PC, and base station. you should configure your base station for ethernet bridging--this way, your base station doesn't create its own subnet, but will act only as a wireless bridge into the LAN created by your router.

it doesn't look like you need the hub.

Concur about not needing the hub, great job, Fulmer. You have several options at this point, depending on what you're doing with each device. I don't know much about networking PS2s, but you can have the router assign IP addresses automatically (using DHCP), or manually assign the addresses to each device. I'd go with automatic, unless there's some reason not to.
