No network icon on my desktop. Why?

Hi there,

I have a HDD on my PC on wich i share my MP3's with my mac. But after i found the computer (by entering the IP) the shared network disk Icon isn't appearing on the desktop. I'm not getting any errors or something like that. And i did share the HDD on the PC

Does anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

EDIT:

It is working on OS9 but not OSX

Is show connected servers on Desktop checked in the Finder preferences?
