Is there any way (in 10.1.5) to connect to an SMB share with a hyphen in its name? Apple's solution of "changing the share name" is not practical...this is on a large corporate Win2K network where all the share names are hyphenated, and the IT guys (like most) are pretty Mac-hostile.

The real question is - is it an Apple OS issue or a SAMBA issue (Samba is the underlying open source app that does windows file sharing).
If its a samba issue, then you might find the answer in Google on any linux or FreeBSD box.

Thanks...it doesn't seem to be a Samba issue. I was able to find a decent freeware app (SambaBrowser) that worked for browsing shares with hyphenated names. Cheaper than DAVE, although I haven't yet tried logging on to an NT domain.

Macola - Where did you find Samba Browser? I think it's a utlity I could really use right now on my school's network!9 As I'm one of three mac systems on a network of about 175 NT PC's. And 10.2 is really bumming me out with being able to connect to these PC's while They're abkle to easily connect ot me. I did a search for it in google, and only found a forum in what I think was Swedish, as well as the major shareware sites (download.com, verstacker, ZDNet) and still couldn't find it! Please help me, I think this could solve my problem.

Thank you Macola. Itried it out today on my small lan at home which has two PC's a Linux Box. It worked beautifully. I did notice on the download page poeple said that they were having trouble using it under various circumstances, However I never encountered any issues. quiter odd. NAyhow thank you again. We can only hope Apple will intergrate something like this in future releases.
