On our mixed network we have four Macs, all running Jaguar. Rendezvous does not work properly on one of the G3 computers.
Symptoms:
1) iChat: On the other clients the G3 user shows up under Rendezvous chatting, and messaging can be initiated. But not FROM the G3. No users are listed on the G3 Rendezvous window. Furthermore, when chats are initiated the G3 cannot resolve the Rendevouz names. The chat windows titles are the partner's IP number, not the Rendezvous name.
2) rendezvous file servers cannot be accessed by "Connect to server". typing Server.local does not work from the G3.
3) Network utility: it works to Ping the G3 by entering "G3-server".local. But this does not work FROM the G3.

Port 5298 is open.
