There are a bunch of old files a friend has on his very old Performa. He recently purchased an eMac and would like to copy the files from the Performa to the eMac? I think he is running OS 7.5

Can these two be networked together, I don't think the Performa has an ethernet port.

Could he pull the hard drive and put it into an external USB or firewire case?

Appreciate any insight and suggestions.

Thanks!

Not many choices if its the 475. The good news is the harddrive isn't very big, so there can't be many large files to send.

The cheapest way I can see is to throw the files on floppies and get them to a machine (pc, older mac on internet) where you can email them to the emac..

Good Luck.

I believe his main concern is his several years of Eurdora email. I have an older SCSI 2x external CD-R somewhere that I need to dig out of the closet. Hopefully I can track down the right extensions and cables to get it to work on his machine.

thanks for the reply.
