I have a G4 connected to modem via ethernet. It has an airport card. The share internet connection in the sys prefs is selected. My iBook has an airport card. It sees the network the G4 created. It is connected to that network. The iBook cannot surf the web using the adsl connection of the G4. Is that normal? Must I have a base station to make that a possibility? My connection is PPoE through the G4.

What must be entered in the Network sys pref of the iBook? I have manual selected, but not sure of the IP address, Router, subnet mask.

First, it it possible? Second, can someone please explain to me what needs to be entered and checked in the control panel on the iBook.

I have messed with this for hours now changing things hoping it would work.

as far as I know, just leave the ibook's setting to default/dhcp. don't enter IPs or subnets or anything. it should pick up on the shared 'net connection and use it.
