I seem to be having a problem getting my new ibook to show up on my home LAN. I can get an IP from the router and surf away, but I can't seem to connect to any other machine on the network in OS X. I normally use timbuktu pro but the version I have doesn't work with X.2 (ibook). From what I understand, the connect to server command in the Finder allows acess to the Public folders on all machines running X, correct? (It replaced the godforsaken chooser, I think.)
All machines have personal file sharing turned ON as well as Appletalk. I have two macs runnig 9.2, one hacked 8600 running OS X.1.5, and my new ibook running X.2. The first three show up in Timbuktu and the server list without a hitch, my ibook is appears to be somewhere else.
I have an Asante router that is set for DHCP. I have several ports around the house and the router assigns IP's with no problems. I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing here. Any suggestions? ANy settings on the ibook?
