I'm running a brand new Netgear Wireless Router MR814 with a G4 Tower , a Powerbook G4 w/ Airport card and a laserprinter. (Both systems are running OS 9.2.2)

When connecting computers through ethernet cables I can share files, access the net simultaneously and print from either computer.

When I decide to use the Powerbook via wireless instead I run into problems. Basically I can still access the internet however I can no longer access anything else on the network. I lose my printer along with the other G4 tower on the network.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It appears that the router has some incompatiblities with Apple Talk.

I have discovered a work around by manually inputting IP address through appleshare to access the G4 Tower however it still does not recognize my printer. (Laserwriter 12/640 PS)

HELP

SOLUTION:
After some much research. I have learned that this router will ONLY support appletalk when hardwired - unlike the older Netgear MR314. My understanding is that most newer routers won't support Appletalk and that Apple plans on phasing this method out anyway.

By manually inputting IP address in chooser I am able to share files in wireless mode. Apple Printer Utility also enabled my Laserwriter 12/640 PS to support TCP/IP printing. Needless to say my wireless setup is working flawlessly with OSX 10.2.2 and OS 9.2.2.

Thank you
AppleCare.

Unless your router's documentation explicitly states that it supports AppleTalk in all modes, expect that it doesn't. Check on Netgear's support web site to see if there are any issues about AppleTalk using that model-the wireless half may not support it while the wired part does, as crazy as that sounds.
