Ok, this is a bit of a newbie question, but here goes...

Our network has several subnets that are inthe same VLAN (#.#.152.#, #.#.153.#, #.#.154.#, etc.). Currently iChat can not see other machines accross subnets even though the other user may be in the next office.

We have been using 255.255.255.0 as our default subnet mask. If this was instead set to 255.255.0.0, might that solve the problem?

Any input would be apreciated.

Thanks!

From a networking perspective - Yes, changing the mask to a /16 should work. However, I'm not sure why you have multiple subnets on the same VLAN/Segment in the first place. I'm sure you have a good reason. I was just curious. Typically, folks will use vlan's to segment off traffic for congestion purposes, but that requires a router to route traffic between the VLANS (unless you trunk, but that's another issue).

Hope this helps.
