I am trying to get my DP 533 running 10.2.2 to communicate with an old W98 PC using my internal Airport card using Internet sharing. I have updated my airport software to the current revision, and I have installed the latest LinkSys drivers on the LinkSys WMP11 Wireless PCI card.

As long as I do not use WEP, everything works great. I just cannot seem to get any kind of encryption going. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting 128bit (or any bit) encryption going?

Try this: Use a phrase to generate a WEP key on the WMP11. Copy down the hexidecimal characters that it generates. Make sure you click "apply!" In the AirPort Admin Utility enter the hex characters (the latest software lets you tell it you're entering hex), and apply that. Give it a shot now.

I've seen several posts saying you can enter the key in hex, but I cannot see where. Here is a screenshot of where the passphrase gets added. How do I tell Jaguar it is in hex?

Ok, try it this way: if your key starts like this-A1 B2 C3..., then enter it in the AirPort Admin Utility as "$A1B2C3..." The dollar sign tells the utility to read the characters as hex rather than text.

Since I don't have the iBook from work right in front of me, I can't tell you where I saw the entry option-I may have just heard of it. Sorry for the confusion.
