I'm having problems connecting my powerbook to the internet through the Microsoft Proxy server that we have at work.

Under OS 9 using IE 5 it connects fine but in OS X (10.2.2) it asks for the username and password but then brings up a screen saying I need to authenticate with the proxy server first?

I found this thread over at the apple discussions board-

http://discussions.info.apple.com/We....1@.3bbbfd1a/0

but I'm not sure if the reply is correct, as I said it connects fine using OS 9, and appears to connect under OS X, it just doesn't seem to register the username and password.

Any ideas?
