Alright, excuse my lack of knowledge in this department. My new iBook should be here either tomorrow or Tuesday, and I need to get some information on it's wireless NICs.

First off, is the Airport card the only NIC that works in the iBook?

If not, what are some good alternatives (preferabbly cheaper)?

The Airport card is the only one supported by Apple. As far as I know, it's also the only one that fits, since most generic wi-fi cards have integral antennas and are designed to be used in a PC card slot.

I think you can find good Airport cards on eBay for about $75 if you don't want to spring $100 for a new one.
