Here's the deal, I've tried port forwarding but I still can't get things to work.

Hardware:

1st gen iMac
Flat Panel iMac
Linksys Wireless Router/Switch with 4 ports (BEF11WS4.v2)

Software I need to work:
File transfer on AOL IM
File transfer on ICQ
Hotline Server, and hotline client.

Right now, HL client works, but the server doesn't.

I need help. Please tell me how to configure eveyrhting. I did have it on DHCP, but in order to foward ports I needed to disable it. In doing so, it still didn't work.

Thanks!

AOL IM file transfer through a Linksys router is an issue. Check out this forum for some information on that problem, and in particular this FAQ entry.

When you disabled DHCP you did manually set an IP for your computers, didn't you? If you don't, they may think they have addresses for a while, but then they'll just stop.

Hardware:
IP Address - Device
*******************************
192.168.1.1 - Linksys Wireless Router/Switch with 4 ports (BEF11WS4.v2)
192.168.1.2 - 1st gen iMac (HL Server???)
192.168.1.3 - Flat Panel iMac

Router
Setup port 6100 (HL???) to forward to 2 (that's 192.168.1.2, but looking over the users guide I think you just enter the last octet). I also think you need set the dynamic routing to Gateway mode not router mode.

Your TCP settings on the iMac's should be IP as listed above, default gateway as 192.168.1.1 and optional - the DNS enteries could be that of your ISP.

Regading AIM, I don't know if anyone has tried setting up the proxy settings (use the router's IP). I don't use that so I'm not much help....

Good luck
