Greetings. I've been having problems setting up my unibrain FW webcam with my current setup. I'm on a Ti500 running 10.2.3 connected wirelessly to a snow basestation which is connected to a linksys 4 port router. I connect through PPPoE with earthlink (DSL-no static ip).
My problem is that using software such as ISpQ and Squidcam, no one can see me. My father, with whom I'd like to see also, is invisble to me as well. His setup is similar except that he is connected through a cablemodem with AT&T and a graphite basestation. I realize that this is probably due to some sort of networking problem on both of our ends. I have no idea how I'm supposed to have my router and basestation set up so that others may see me. I've searched and searched both here and on the net, but have found absolutely no information that helped.
I know that this is asking for a lot of information, but this is driving the both of us crazy and any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like the ports you need to get the video through are closed, probably in the Linksys router. Using your browser go to 192.168.1.1 (unless you've changed the address of the router) and click on the "Advanced" tab, then click on the "Forwarding" tab. Find out what ports the webcam software uses, and forward them to the computer that has the webcam installed.
If your father is behind a router too, he'll have to open or forward (or both) the ports his software uses, too.

Thanks for replying so soon GHPorter. According to ISpQ, they say that ports 2000-2003 need to be opened. I think that I opened those ports on the linksys router. Here is a picture of my linksys setup
These are the settings that I have for my airport
This is what shows up in my routing table from the Linksys
Another problem I have, is if I'm using squidsoft's software, is there any way for me to give an ip address to someone i know with the setup I currently have.

It looks good, but you should have specified IP 192.168.1.100, the address of your computer, not ...1, the address of your router.
I'm not sure I understand the last item in your post, though. If you mean is there a way to give someone the WAN IP address you currently have, then the answer is yes. Go to the initial page on your Linksys router-192.168.1.1- and scan down just a little bit. You'll see your WAN IP address on that page. You can email or IM that to whomever you want to converse with.
There are services that manage updating DNS with a dynamic client IP address, but most use Windows software-the IM method works very well for spur of the moment video chats with friends, etc.

www.no-ip.com has a mac dynamic dns updating program which has worked for me flawlessly.
You can go there and download the program. Sign-up obviously first and choose a domain name address from one of the ones they have.
Any more help needed, I can try but this isn't really my expertise!

Thank you guys so much for the help. My father is now able to contact me throught the webcam using Squidsoft.. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! The www.no-ip.com thing I think was the ticket. If anyone else is having the same problems as I was having, make sure that you also open up the port(s) in the basestation as well as the router if you happen to have one. All my father has to do now is type in "my" new domain name that I set up at no-ip while I have the no-ip software running, and he can connect with no problems. Again, thanks so very much for your help.
