most routers allow you to open up certain ports and forward the traffic on that port to a specific machine within your internal LAN.
for personal web sharing, you will want to forward port 80 to the IP address of your Mac.
once the forwarding is setup, you can access your web server via the ip address that your ISP has assigned to your router.
