At work we have single Ethernet feeds into various office rooms that will house two employees each. We'd like to have them use 1000 Base-T connections to our server. In order to accommodate each, back in the days of 100 Base-T, I would have used a minihub to split one Ethernet line into two (usually using a four- or eight-port device). Are there any copper gigabit minihubs out on the market that would serve the same purpose?

From your description, it sounds like you want a switch with 3 gigabit-ethernet ports - two ports to the two workstations, and one uplink to the network core.

The smallest switch you're likely to find is a 4-port switch such as the LinkSys EF1704 ( http://www.linksys.com/products/prod...5&prid=506 ) or the Netgear GS104 ( www.netgear.com/products/details/GS104.asp )
