Hi!

As mentioned in the topic I have got a problem accessing remotly to PC mailserver. Perhaps somebody can help me. Here is what happens.

The thing is that I am trying to connect from 10.2.3 remotely to the mailserver of my wifes office. I can connect succesfully through PPP but when I try to access mail the server refuses my connection. Looking at the POP3 connection log I see that I can connect to the POP server. It answers "+OK POP3 WinProxy ready" or something similar. But when I issue any command like USER to login it answers "-ERR 425 canīt connect to host". Tried with other services like SMTP and they work correctly.

Have you any idea of what can be wrong. Am I doing something wrong or is there an error in the WinProxy configuration.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely

The first thing that comes to mind is that the proxy is configured to reject all but select clients from the outside. This is typical for a basic security setup; you only let certain users in to check mail. You may need to contact the IT folks at that office to determine the proper log-in procedure.

Since it's a POP protocol it doesn't have anything to do with the platform the protocol is being hosted on-WinProxy needs to be transparent to any and all platforms for standard protocols.
