Hi all
I am a complete ignorant in this field!
Just bought an iBook and wanted to backup my files from my 8600 via ethernet but cant make it. I think its because I miss the file sharing control pannel... right? if so please email it to me at help@zubro.com

Merci beaucoup! ;o)

If you're just connecting a cable between the two computers, you need a "crossover cable." This cable reverses the transmit and receive pairs between the two ends, so two computers can talk.

For this application, I think AppleTalk is the best way to go, but as you say that you don't have a file sharing control panel in your 8600, I don't know how you'd set any of it up.
