D-Link 614+ and ATTBI POP mail troubles

I have a D-Link 614+ router and ATTBI cable modem. My trouble is with Mail and ATTBI POP mail. OS X Mail says that it can't access port 110 for the POP mail. But the port appears to be open. I know I'm missing something very simple. Any help would be nice, thanks.
