i need help with netorking my mac to my pc inorder to share internet connections. i have a mac using jaguar OS. my pc is running windows 2000 pro. i want to use an airport also so i can shove this pc in the closet for good and use it only as a server i guess. my internet connection is via satillite to pc via usb cable. i guess i have to hook airport to pc via ethernet cable, have a hub also on pc. i know this can be done but not sure how and what settings to place on each computer. any info u can refer me to or supply to me would be greatly appreciated.
thanks again

Hi there,
I do not have a solution but I have heard of people doing this and using IP masquerading. If you are comfortable with commandline stuff then I am sure there are many people who can help you out there. Also try researching on this technique you should be able to find out something. If you do find out a solution please post back in this same thread.

It sounds like you want to have your Windows 2000 PC hooked up via ethernet to the Airport Base station and have the Mac connect via Airport. If you have one of the later "Snow" base stations, you can plug the satellite modem into your Base station's ethernet WAN port, then plug the ethernet cable from your PC into the other ethernet port on the Base station. The Mac can connect wirelessly to the Base Station. You'll need to have your Windows PC's TCP/IP settings set to obtain an IP address from a DHCP server (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network, click on "IP address" and select "Obtain an IP address from a DHCP server". You should be all set.
By the way, if you don't already have an Airport Base Station, you may want to check out other vendors. I recently purchased an SMC Wireless Router with a 4 port hub for US $84.00!
