This is weird to me but I'm a Mac newbie "Switcher". I have been using the mail application that comes with OS X and decided to try Entourage. I configured Entourage but then decided that I wanted to stick with Mail. After returning to the mail.app I am unable to send mail at all. I cannot ping the address or name of my smtp-server from the Powerbook any longer under any logon account that I have created. However, the address is pingable from PCs in the house.
Does Entourage somehow touch network settings? Is there someplace that I can look in the network configuration to see why smtp-server.XXXX.com is being blocked? I can still retrieve mail without a problem but it uses pop-server.xxxx.com. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary
