Here is my setup:

800 MHz ibook (OSX 10.2.3)
450 MHz PC (Windows XP)
Linksys Wireless Gateway/Router
Airport Card

Configuration

PC hardwired to the wireless router via network card. I have internet access via dialup through that PC through a 56K modem. The ibook is able to go online through the Airport Card. The problem occurs here. I have enabled file sharing on the PC and if I direct connect the pc to the ibook via ethernet cable I can file share with no problem by going to the Connect to Server option on the ibook, it searches for the pc and finds it. It ask for password and voila I am in. However, if I try this through the wireless connection, it searches forever and if I click connect then it gives an error. It there a reason it will not connect via wireless router yet will connect via direct connection?

Can I somehow by pass all of this by somehow getting the ip address of the PC and connect somehow that way? Or is the wireless router somehow using the ip of the pc? I dunno. Someone please help.

Why I am at it, does anyone know how to share the printer if it is connect to the pc?

Thanks
Thanks

I just realized something. I have the network cable from the pc to the port on the wireless which is designated for the cable running from a cable modem. Would this be the reason I can not file share? Is this link only one way? IF that is the case, how can I file share AND have an internet connection via dialup?

That implies that you've probably got the Airport interface set up correctly.
What happens when you type something like the following in the Address box:
smb://12.34.56.78/NameOfUser/
(where the ip no. is the pcs ip)
Are you getting any error msgs?

re: printer sharing

Just change the PC's cable to one of the LAN ports, rather than the WAN port. Then enable Internet Connection Sharing on the PC. Make sure you turn off DHCP in the router if the PC's handling that (it's the default when you set up ICS in any Windows version).
