OK, I've searched and found >similar< threads but no answers for my *particular* situation.

We just set up a Netgear MR814 in our office and I can access the net and our shared files fine. But, you guessed it, I can no longer print (and sorry, I don't have the model of the HP Laser printer on me now. I think it's a 4000- something). I used Appletalk to print on this HP with our old D-Link wireless router, btw, and I can print fine over ethernet with the Netgear, but not over Airport.

I was told that if I put a $ before the WEP key i should be able to print using Appletalk. Didn't work. I'm wondering if I should go into the router's settings and add the $ there, in addition to the PowerBook itself? Other possibilities I was told to try were encasing the SSID (or WEP key) in quotes. Will this work?

The printer has an IP address, but when I first brought my PowerBook in and tried to add it in Print Center using the IP address it didn't work. When I switched it to Appletalk it appeared and worked no problem. Is there a way for me to bypass Appletalk entirely using the IP address?

Thanks.

These Netgear routers do not bridge Appletalk to the wireless side. It has nothing to do with the password. This is true for most of the routers out there, with a few exceptions.
You can set the printer up for IP printing. I know there are some great instructions posted on the net somewhere, but since I can't seem to find them, I'll just link you here. This describes how to set up Gimp-Print via IP printing. Just ignore the Gimp stuff and follow the network steps. If it's a HP printer, lp (lower case LP) should work for the queue name.
