I have been running an Airport base station since the first Airport base station was released. My initial setup was done in OS9 and all went well. I have a Linksys router serving IPs via DHCP and the Airport plugged in serving the wireless segment.

Since migrating to OSX, I cannot use the Airport configuration utility to manage my basestation (which does not even have wep enabled).

When I try to access the basestation, the utility will recognize the access point, but errors when tryin to read the config file.

Is anyone using the configuration utility in OSX with success?

Yes, the admin utility in OS X does work. I suspect you are running a firewall on your Airport equipped Mac with OS X. Am I right?

Chris,
actually no, I have been trying it on my laptop on which I have no firewalls running.

Does it work from a machine connected wirelessly, or must I be wired?

It will work from a wireless connection, but if you have an ethernet cable and can hook it up you might find it easier.
