IP address not right after installing MiniVigor driver

My girlfriend got a MiniVigor ISDN adapter. She also connects to the university LAN with her iBook. After installing her MiniVigor, she couldn't connect to her LAN anymore.

Ok, so here's what I have figured out so far and tried:

First of all, I have uninstalled the drivers which didn't help. Apparently she doesn't get a correct IP address. Instead of getting one of the university IP addresses 132.x.x.x, she gets a private IP (assigned by the computer it says).

I have also tried to manually give it an IP from the desired range, but that didn't work out, too.

Any suggestions?
