I may be stating this incorrectly so forgive me.

If I plug into the network at work via ethernet, is it simply as easy as clicking Finder>Go>Connect to Server then selecting what shows up in a list and I will be able to access other machines?

Will I be on the internet that easily as well?

I have Mac OS X v. 10.2.3.

Maybe lead me to a few links. Have had no real luck searching 'cause I don't know the right keyword(s).

Depends how you get your ip address, if you are setup correctly with ip and subnet then yes but you may need a logon password to access other machines- ideally you should be getting your ip via dhcp -

Again yes, I was in work

You mention exchange server in the title, connecting to an exchange server is possible with Mail.app as long as the ex server allows imap connections.

I know this response is not particularly indepth but my knowledge is limited, it just seemed to work for me!
