Simple question:
Does the onboard Ethernet affect the data transfer rate of a computer hooked up to the network via a USB wireless adapter?
Detailed reason for needing to know:
I have a Beige DT with a Belkin wireless USB adapter and a MDD G4 (hard wired to the router) networked together through a Belkin router and then to a cable modem.
I can mount the Beige on the G4 and transfer any amount of data e.g. I moved a 500 meg folder from Beige to the G4 while on the G4.
The problem comes when mounting the G4 on the Beige. The actual Connect to server part is fine, I can mount and see the G4 from the Beige however if, while on the Beige I try to move files larger than one meg or so from the G4 to the Beige the whole network goes down.
Speculation:
The onboard Ethernet of Beige is 10base-T and is causing the problem.
