Hi !

I'm a little bit confused ..

I just bought an ibook+airport card and now i'm consider to buy a matching access device for my network.

I got a cube and two pc's connected to a 10/100Mbit Switch . This Switch is connected to a DSL-Router which routes the internet-access to the DSL-Modem.

So i like to know if it's possible to exchange the DSL-Router with the new AirPort Base Station , so the ABS will control and route the Internet Access for all wired PC's and the Cube and also gives the ibook wireless access to the LAN and Internet .

Is this possible ?

Hmmh the new ABS has got an WAN and LAN Connector , so is it possible to connect the whole Switch plus the three Computers connected to the switch , or does the ABS only allowes 1 Computer at the LAN port ?

Thanx for all replys..

Bye, Markus23

you can just stick with your setup or get a 3rd party router that has a built in switch or you can get an AB station.

here is how its done:

DSL Modem > router > switch > macs/pcs

or

DSL Modem > ABS > switch > macs/pcs

i highly suggest a 3rd Party router since it will provide DHCP, firewall & others functions compared to your setup & its cheaper than ABS....
