Do you have an ABS or a regular router? If it is a router, go to your routers address in a web browser. For example mine is 192.168.0.1 You can cahnge settings from in there. If its an ABS, try the Airport Admin app or the Airport Setup app. (Both in the Utilities folder)

Uhh well I don't know what ABS is. It is a linksys router model #BEFSR41.
I don't want to change the name of the whole network just of the airport network from apple network 98877865865 or whatever to something a little more normal.
I don't see anything in the airport admin or setup to change this.

"ABS" is short for AirPort Base Station.

Heh well I should have known...
The cable comes from the modem into a linksys wired router and then from one of the ports on that it runs into the ABS.
No problems in the last few days.
I haven't tried to get my printer working through the network to my mac yet, but both windows pc's see it fine.
