If your printer is not listed on Apple's compatibility list does it mean it will not work with the AE? I use my Lexmark X83 and I can print without any problem on my other Macs but this is not on the list.

I think the compatibility list is a list of printers that Apple has proven to work with AE. Whether they even tried or not with your printer is a very good question. They don't have a list of "These Don't Work At All" printers, do they? That would be at least as useful as a list that's proven to work, don't you think? Anyway, give it a shot. If your printer is even similar to any that are on the list it should work.
