My roommate and I are both using os x 10.2.4. At our university, there are three network drives that are accessible through SMB in the "connect to server" menu item. since i've updated to jaguar, i've not had any problem connecting to the drives, but every time my roommate tries to connect, he gets a "an error has occured (error = -5000)". no authentication dialog box comes up before this error message. I can't find out from anywhere what the error even means. anyone have any idea? thanks

Well, I checked before I posted here, and I checked after someone mentioned that there is an article on it on knowledge base. either this guy has knowledge base memorized, he is just guessing that it's on knowledge base, or he went out and found it, but didn't think it would be necessary to post it here. it's not on knowledge base. thanks

No, no and no. The last time I looked, this is what I found. Was your roommate running ipfw when he tried it? If so, try again with the firewall shut off.
