I use my G4/533/10.2.3 as a software base station. It worked fine when I shared its ADSL internet connection with my iBook running 9.0.4 via airport. I have now upgraded to a new 12" powerbook with airport extreme running 10.2.3. I cannot share a internet connection. The network shows up on the powerbook airport menu, so I know there is some communication going on. I copied all the internet settings over to the powerbook, but fails to make a internet connection.
Should all setting be the same on the powerbook?
Shouldn't an arrow show up on top of the airport symbol on the powerbook, just like it does on my desktop machine??
What am I doing wrong??
They told me at MacZone that airport extreme would work with software base station (original airport). PLEASE Help
thanks;

Do you have MAC address filtering enabled? Is so add your new PB's airport address.

I cannot seem to find MAC address filtering. Where do I find this? I assume I should be looking for it on the Mac that I am using as a airport basestation. I am a little new to networking.
thanks for your response.

Well, I don't use SW BS, but it would be in the security settings. Check your Airport apps in the utilities folder.
