I have 2 PC's and my new 12" Powerbook working through an Airport Extreme Base Station. I originally configured the Airport Base Station using the Windows Airport Administration Utility because my mac hadn't arrived yet. Now when I try to run the Airport Administration Utility (on the mac) to turn on Wep or anything else, the Airport Admin Utility unexpectedly quits--I get a messag saying it has unexpedly quit. Any ideas? It is a pain to try to administer through the Windows Airport Admin Utility--I want to be able to do it through my Powerbook. I am running OS X with all of the updates on the OS. Anyone have any ideas. By the way--I love my new mac after about a weeks worth of use! I am so glad I decided to "think different."

I presume that all your computers are wireless?

Do you unplug your pc or turn off your pc when you do this access on your wireless mac?

Yes, I tried turning off both PC's when I was trying to configure the airport with the mac. One PC is wireless and the other is connected via Ethernet cable to the back of the airport. I tried with both PC's off and the airport admin utility on the mac quits immediately after you see the screen on the mac. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I solved my own problem. I just went into the network settings in the mac and told the airport to use the strongest signal. (It had been previously set to connect to the most recent network--which was the airport that had been configured through Windows. After I did that--I was able to run the Airport Setup Utility and it found the Airport--and then I was able to configure it using the software on the mac--not the pc. I wanted to use the mac software since the mac airport config software is better than the windows and gives one more choices. Anyway, I wanted to post this solution.
