Did anyone receive the Dr. Bott Omni directional antenna? How does it work? Did you get a boost in performance.? Worth the money?

I havenot used the antenna you mentioned, but I'm pretty sure it would not be worth the money to me. There are plenty of companies that sell antennas for use with wireless networking systems, and when you compare the price you end up asking yourself, what the heck is so special about DrBott products... and for me the answer is Nothing At All.

Try:
http://www.hyperlinktech.com/index.html
http://www.netgate.com/

Plus tons of others... check google to find more resellers.

what do you recommend that would be cost effective and stronger than what Dr.Bott is offering for 99.00$

I got my antenna yesterday and I bought the antenna and a new Airport Extreme because I dropped the connection when I got up on the second floor in my house in the diagonal corner to that in which the antenna was placed on the ground floor. I did not expect (and I did not get) any improved signal from the Extreme but now when I connected the antenna I cannot see any improvement at all although I can see through the Airport software that the antenna is connected properly. Big disappointment!

Have you applied yesterday's Airport 3.0 update? I was wondering if this would have any affect on these antennas.

Yes, I have applied the update and the only thing that happened was that it changed the Airport Extreme software back from v 5.0.3 to 5.0.1.

If you do a search here you will find many people who have gotten the Dr. Bott antenna and they all said it does nothing at all so they returned it.
