I have two Jaguar equipped Macs with airport cards.
One is cable-connected to dsl. The other one is
in another room and uses airport for surfing the net.
Now I found out, that when I share the internet connection
via airport, the already existing file sharing connection breaks.
Is there a way to enable both file and internet
connection at the same time? Thanks for your help.

Finally I found out how to make Internet Sharing _and_ File Sharing work at the same time with only two Airport equipped Macs! The trick is to follow these steps:
- The dsl connection must be setup already.
- You have to set both Airport cards to DHCP network.
- On the dsl connected Mac, ethernet port must be on top of the airport port (under network -> show network configuration).
- On the second Mac airport must be the first port.
- File Sharing must be enabled on both Macs (for the file sharing).
- Share the Internet connection with other Airport equipped Macs. You can do this in Sharing under Internet. Check the button and then press Start. Probably you have to be connected to the Internet to be able to do this.

Now on the second Mac you will see the signal bars on the airport icon in the menu bar. You can now start surfing and simultaneously do file sharing. By pressing command-k in a finder window you can find the base station.

Since I have to pay my dsl-provider on a time base, I have to connect and disconnect to the internet remotely. I do this with a VPN network. The only problem I've found today is that somehow DNS resolving doesn't work anymore when the distance between the Airport connected Macs is extended. I still have a good connection though (signal strength and file transfer). Strange...
