I'm interested in buying an airport basestation as a companion for my TiBook. I will be the only one using it and I have a fairly small place, so I was wondering if even the old graphite until will suit my needs. Seeing that I have 802.11b, the new airport extreme doesn't help that much, and wireless printing, though cool, isn't that important to me.

So what do you think? Can I get away with using a graphite base station, or snow at least?

There are a whole mess of different units you can use, made by a bunch of different manufacturers. If you really aren't interested in wireless printing, check out Netgear's MR814. You can pick one up from buy.com now for 60 bucks. Or wait and watch their site, as it has been there for as low as $30 after rebate.
To answer your question, though, yes, you can use any of the ABSes. I hardly see the point of paying so much for one of them, unless you're getting the AEBS with printer port.
