I have a gen 1 Base Station that has been finctioning fine with the two Apples we have in the house. I recently got s Pocket PC for work and a Netgear CF Wireless card with the hopes of getting it onto the net to get my messages and such. I cant seem to get it to connect. Supposedly the card can go 40 bit, 64 bit and 128 bit encryption, however when I set the security setting it only lists nothing, 64 or 128 bit. Thinking that this was my hiccup I reconfigured the base statio without encryption. Still nothing. Anyone have ideas???

40 bit and 64 bit WEP are the same thing-40 bits of secret key with 24 bits of automatically generated, session key.

I've seen PocketPCs with CF wireless cards have problems with connecting to networks, and it's still a puzzle. Does the PocketPC "see" your AirPort network? Does it detect any networks? Which brand and model of PocketPC do you have?

Thanks for the reply. I have a Dell Axim with a Netgear MA701 card. Today Turned off WEP on the base station and managed to get it to connect to get mail, but no browser. Go figure. I read some of the help files and saw how to get the equivalent password for windows machines. I entered it into the system on the PocketPC and now it sees the base, gets an IP address assigned and I can read my mail. Try to get IE to run and I get errors saying that it cant find the page I am looking for. This is for ANY web page. I guess I will have to see what happens tomorrow. This is just another reminder as to why I switched back to a Mac. There is absolutely NOTHING that a PC does that is actually easy. I wish Apple would come up with a PocketMac for people to use on the run. Surely they could do it better than these idiotic PC's. Can you imagine a moblie OSX for those of us on the move where a laptop isnt that convenient.
