Please, bear with me... I know there are some instructions on these boards, but me and my friend (the one with the connection) are both beginners, and need all the help we can get. So, be as specific as you can.
On to the issue then...
My friend (living downstairs) has ISDN-connection to internet that is always on. He has XP-PC so there's some kind of internet sharing available. The only problem really is that neither of us can configure the XP-box or my Airport Basestation (Graphite) so that the internet sharing actually works with my iBook. He can easily share connection with other PC's though. His PC doesn't have wireless so the connection to Basestation needs to be through ethernet.
So, what do we need to configure in the first place, and how? I suppose we need to get Airport software for his PC..?
Whew... please help!

Thanks in advance,
tomppu

to make things ez for ya go down take your book with u ok? plug it in the network ( pc network) go to pref/network/ show ethernet then under configure use DHCP give it a sec or 2 ........ do u see an IP address? if u do then your set and it should work! if not then hmm go to the windows computer and tell him to put internet sharing on it should work

now your pb is working via direct link do the same with the airport use ethernet and DHCP

You can configure WinXP to share a network connection on one adapter through another adapter. What you have to do to get the base station to do what you want is to set it to bridge the networks-act as a translator between the wired and wireless networks. You do this by simply unselecting "share a single IP address" in the Network tab of the Admin Utility. Now, the DHCP server in the XP software will assign automatic addresses to any wireless device that connects through the base station, and the base simply passes the traffic back and forth, converting wired to wireless and vice versa.
