Okay so when I launch Ariport Admin Utility, I see my Snow Airport but when I double click it and enter the password then I get the error : "The Airport Admin Utility was unable to read the configuration of the selected base station."
This happens with both my airports and in OS 9 and OS X. I can only have access after a hard reset but then it gets blocked again. This happens regardless of the firmare version in the base station.. 4.0.7 or 4.0.8.
This only started happening after the the airport 3 upgrade...
Can anyone help here ??

You may wanna try running AirPort Setup (not Admin) and see if that'll yeild any positive results. And if worse comes to worse, completely remove your AirPort from the Macs knowledge, then reinstall using the original CD that came w/ it. Good luck!

Wow.. not a lot of people reading stuff in this forum... I guess I'm the only one with this problem. Apple is so damn annoying when it comes to bugs. They never say anything and it's up to U to figure it out. I tried what U said and I guess I'll have to downgrade my aiport software... Oh well..

You might want to try connecting over a wired link rather than the wireless link. This used to happen to me, but only on OS X, never with 9. On X, the problem was that I had a firewall running that blocked the comm between my Mac and the base station. If you have a firewall, try disabling it.

If you're communicating by cable you need to use a X-over cable in the port with the two arrows. In Sys Pref Network, set the manual IP to 10.0.1.2 and router to 10.0.1.1. Now you should be able to read the Airport configuration.

I had the same problem. The solution: keep trying! On the fourth or fifth try, I was able to get into my Airport Extreme Base Station. It will eventually let you in. I know this sounds crazy, but it worked for me. (I actually read this in this forum awhile back.)
